This was a tricky little beast exposed by bootstrap sequences involving the cogserver, the the parsing of strings arriving via JSON. The resulting expressions were executable Atoms, but did not yet live in any AtomSpace. Executing them was supposed to return a child AtomSpace ... which did not yet have a parent. Oh No!!
