0.4.4: mtime cache in _scan() — skip rehashing unchanged files
Legacy full-scan was O(disk bytes): readFileSync + hashChunk per file, on every call. For pgh-sidecar's 24 GB content-addressed tree-store this took multiple minutes on every startup AND every restart, even though the tree-hash dirs are immutable so 99.9% of bytes hadn't changed. Now _scan() looks up each path in the fileIndex first. If size + mtime match what's stored, reuse the cached contentHash. Skip the readFileSync, skip the putFile (the entry is already correct). Net effect for warm-cache state: - O(disk bytes hashed) → O(stat calls + index lookups) - 41,450 files × 24 GB → 41,450 stat() calls - Expected ~100-1000× faster, depending on disk + autobase warmth Emits a `scan-cache-stats` event with hits/misses/hashedBytes/totalFiles so operators can observe the warm-vs-cold pattern. Tests: - scan-cache-stats: first scan 0 hits, second 50 hits, 0 misses - mutate one file: warm rescan re-hashes only that one path Doesn't fix initial cold scan (no way around walking 24 GB the first time after fresh-install). Does fix every subsequent startup/restart and every legacy rescan() with no args. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com>
