basal-agent: SYNTHESIS.md — cold read of Part C; fix a false framing claim
Adversarial re-read of Part C, checking claims against sources rather than memory. FACTUAL ERROR FIXED. Part C's framing paragraph claimed "all six use chemistry identical to ribozyme.c ... no compartments, no space, no group selection". Verified false on four counts: the table has SEVEN rows (plus rafcomp as an eighth section); linkage.c shares none of that chemistry (zero occurrences of PHIMAX/hairpin/F0/BETA — it is 8 gene types and distinct-type counting); byproduct.c is explicitly a 600-site LATTICE (30 occurrences of NSITE); chemoton.c and rafcomp.c are built ON compartments, which is their subject. Written when Part C had four experiments, never updated as three were appended. Now states which three are cross-comparable by phi and which are not. FLAGGED, NOT FIXED. partition.c's "partitioning and gating are anti-correlated" is causally unverified: maintenance cost moves both variables in that sweep and partitioning was never varied independently. Better placed than Test B's T4 since the gain-vs-control cancels cost effects, but T4 and chemoton's C3 were both this exact shape and both fell at matched conditions. Marked in place as the likeliest surviving claim to break; the check has not been run. MINOR. linkage table marked as showing 5 of 7 swept costs; linkage downgraded in the summary table from "the crossing" to "a crossing on rung 2->3". VERIFIED INTACT: all three of the day's corrections are present in both section text and proven/open — C3's downgrade, Test B's T4 retraction, and the linkage loop marked unsupported. Caveat on the read itself: performed by the same context that wrote Part C, so it is adversarial rather than genuinely cold. A fresh reader may find more.
